Signing the AIMS Videos

For those Dads and Daughters who are working toward Haylushka, the highest honor in our program, this is an important milestone and one that represents commitment, preparation, and the traditions we share together.

As part of the Haylushka testing process, both Dad and Daughter must learn to sign the AIMS and will be asked to demonstrate them together in front of the Haylushka Chief. The AIMS are an important part of our program and reflect the values and principles we hope our girls carry with them well beyond their time in the program.

Further below are video instructions demonstrating how to sign each AIM.

In addition to signing the AIMS, each girl seeking the honor of Haylushka will be asked to complete several additional requirements:

• Prepare a 10-page report on Nature.
• Present her report orally to the Council at the time of testing.
• Demonstrate a practical skill in nature, such as starting a fire, setting up a tent, or another appropriate outdoor skill.

Haylushka is intended to be more than simply completing a set of requirements. It is an opportunity for each girl to demonstrate what she has learned, the confidence she has developed, and her understanding of the traditions and values that have been part of her journey.

For Dads, it is also an opportunity to prepare alongside your daughter and share in an accomplishment that she will hopefully remember for many years to come.

I also plan to hold a Haylushka Public Service event within the next 45 days and will share the details once they are finalized. All current Haylushkas will be invited, along with any girls who are preparing to test. This will be another opportunity for our Haylushkas to come together, serve, and support the girls who are working toward earning this honor.

We saw tremendous momentum at the spring campout, with so many girls becoming new Haylushkas. I would love to see that continue. Please encourage every Dad and Daughter who is eligible to begin preparing now, work through the requirements together, and take advantage of the opportunity to earn this very special honor.
